BECOMING A REAL ESTATE AGENT IN INDIANA

WHY REAL ESTATE?

ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS

Before you can work as a real estate agent in Indiana, however, there are a few requirements that you first need to meet, including:

  • You must be at least 18 years of age

  • You must have a high school diploma or GED

  • Have completed an approved 90-hour real estate pre-licensing (Internal link to

    IREI’s course) course

  • Completed background check

  • Schedule & Take the Indiana broker licensing exam via PSI

Our institution covers all necessary topics including; license law, property law, agency, environmental issues, contacts, fair Housing, investments, and taxes.

We’ve also included other topics required by the Indiana Real Estate Licensing committee, where you’ll have full knowledge of how the industry works by the end of the

course. You can take the course in the classroom for live instructions or go at your own pace with our online course. Books and other materials will be covered by the tuition.

TAKING YOUR EXAM

If you took our pre-licensing course, your exam will be made a lot easier. Taking our course will also work to your advantage because there are state and national portions of the exam, and it is essential to pass both if you are to become a real estate agent in Indiana. Because the exam is done via a computer, you’ll be able to receive your results immediately upon completion.

If you fail to pass the exam, you can retake it from scratch or you may simply redo the part you did not succeed in. Thankfully, Indiana allows students to retake the exam as many times as needed in the year following their prelicensing course completion.

FINDING A BROKERAGE

To get an active real estate license in Indiana, you will first need to find a brokerage to sponsor you and work for them. While there are many great brokerages in Indiana to work for, it’s best to do your research on them ahead of time. You’ll want to work for a reputable, reliable, and trustworthy brokerage to ensure that you will gain the proper skillset and connections necessary to your success in the field.
